The second grade class was privileged to visit the home of our third president, the beautiful historic plantation of Monticello. The students had the most amazing educational trip !!! They loved seeing the beautiful grounds and gardens and played a game, on the West Lawn, that Thomas Jefferson’s grandchildren played as children. The second graders loved counting the clocks and identifying the portraits of many famous Americans throughout Thomas Jefferson’s home. The students really enjoyed looking at his books, Indian artifacts, inventions, artwork, alcove beds, and octagon shaped rooms. They were very excited to share their own knowledge and ask many questions. After touring the grounds and house, we had a beautiful picnic lunch!

A huge thank you to our wonderful parents who drove and chaperoned our field trip: Mrs. Holi, Dr. Hirsch, Mrs. Klestzick, and Mrs. Pegalis!! A special thank you to Mrs. Pegalis for all of the wonderful pictures.
